Changing for the future:
PA Society of Public Accountants announces new name
After an extensive research initiative and membership vote, the Pennsylvania Society of Public Accountants will change its name to Pennsylvania Society of Tax & Accounting Professionals. The new name was chosen and became effective November 1, 2012.
Since its inception in 1946, the organization has offered affordable continuing professional education, legislative advocacy, resources and networking opportunities for CPAs, PAs, EAs, accountants and tax practitioners statewide. As one of the two dominant Pennsylvania State Tax and Accounting organizations, the group is noteworthy for focusing specifically on smaller firms and sole practitioners that represent small business and individual taxpayers.
Changing our name to Pennsylvania Society of Tax & Accounting Professionals launches a fresh, progressive image for us, underscoring our recent growth. We are proud to serve our existing members, while welcoming the next generation of best-in-breed practitioners. Our new name reflects our past as well as our future.
“Our name has changed, but what we stand for remains constant,” adds Executive Director, Sherry L. DeAgostino. “We are here to promote and protect our members’ interests and help them in every aspect of their business, from professional development to programs and resources specifically tailored to smaller practices.”
Along with the name change, the organization kicked off a rebranding campaign featuring a dynamic new logo and tagline (“Leverage the power of smaller practices”).
